Blessed

Let’s be THANKFUL for God’s blessings.

22 The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22; ESV)

Blessing #1: God blesses us with MATERIAL wealth.

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:17; ESV)

19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19; ESV)

13 And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name. 14 “But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. (1 Chronicles 29:13-14; ESV)

Blessing #2: God blesses us with SPIRITUAL wealth.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. (Ephesians 1:3-4; ESV)

In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. (Ephesians 4:5-6; ESV)

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. (Ephesians 1:7-10; ESV)

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:11-12; ESV)

13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14; ESV)

Blessing #3: God blesses us with RELATIONAL wealth.

10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. 11 The heart 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain . . . 9 You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace. (Proverbs 31:10-11; Song of Solomon 4:9; ESV)

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. (Psalm 127:3; ESV)

17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity . . . 6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy . . . 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Proverbs 17:17; 27:6; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; ESV)

Let’s be GRATEFUL for God’s blessings.

Let’s give our MONEY.

Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35; ESV)

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce . . . 24 One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. 25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. (Proverbs 3:9; 11:24-25; ESV)

10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. (Malachi 3:10; ESV)

17 As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19; ESV)

Let’s tell others about CHRIST.

4 And Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: 5 the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. 6 And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.” (Matthew 11:4-6; ESV)

Let’s honor the PEOPLE in our lives.

10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. (Romans 12:10; ESV)

“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise) . . . (Ephesians 6:2; ESV)

11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you . . . 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (2 Corinthians 13:11; Ephesians 4:32; ESV)
